Friday Harbor is a quaint little town, were you are able to take a leisurely stroll from one end to the other with the coolness of the ocean breeze in your hair. Accessible by one of the most scenic ferry rides in the world! As soon as you offload the ferry you'll find yourself in the middle of a tiny town full of historical store fronts, local farmers, and creative island artists. Many museums and beaches to access along with hiking trails and parks for exploring.
The Port of Friday Harbor is known for its marina, aquatic activities, fabulous dining, hiking, biking, and camping. The panoramic view of the Olympic Peninsula is just breath taking, the fresh sea air is a soul healer for all ages. There are paddle board and kayak rentals, zip lining, fishing, whale watching tours, and scuba diving activities all over the small island. One of the best times to be had is the sunset kayak tour.
If you can plan it right you might just be able to see some whales while out on that kayak tour. If not do not fret, Friday Harbor has one of the best shore views for whale watching available, right from the water front park, Orca Whales are known to put on a show that can been seen from the comfort of your own picnic blanket on the beach.
For a little taste of the history of the island and wildlife of the islands you'll enjoy the museums of Friday Harbor. This charming town with the historical store fronts and fresh sea food menu is a perfect get away spot for all Washingtonians.
