#EndlessAdventure18 | Day 4 | WINTHROP

Now that we were headed in the direction of home we were really only had one place in mind. I had been here years before as a teenager but had never brought my family to this place. Winthrop.

Winthrop is this old school, western themed town that is tucked away on the easter side of the Northern Cascade Mountains and is a favorite summer destination for thousands. In fact the freeway that connects Winthrop to the western side of the state is closed for most of the winter months due to snow.

It was the perfect place to end this week's little adventure and dry out! With temps in the 80's and no rain in sight we soaked up all the rays we could and aired out the tent that got soaked the night before. I should clarify that the inside of the tent was bone dry, but we folded it back up in the rain to the outside of the tent needed to dry out.

This trip we added the annex room (lower room) to the tent and it turned out to be more useful that we had anticipated! It was a perfect gear room, and in a crowded state park was a perfect changing room for some privacy. It was big enough we had a queen sized air mattress that fit down there and gave us a little extra wiggle room when we went to bed.

This day was really one of the prettiest sections of road we had been on and ended in a pretty pristine little camping spot with plenty of room to let the kids run around and get all their energy out.

If you're planning an adventure of your own Winthrop is certainly a place you should consider adding to your travel list.

Happy Exploring,
